Pukhraj Potato

Pukhraj Potato is large, oval and slightly tapered in shape. These potatoes are very good keeper of weight which means the weight loss for this variety is 10-12% of the total weight for 75 days of storage. It has light yellow flesh and the texture is mealy making it a suitable potato for cooking, boiling and baking. Pukhraj potato is easy to cook. It has an average flavour which makes it easy to combine with other foods. It is widely used in numerous Indian and western dishes. Mostly grown in Gujarat, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and West Bengal regions in India.
